Privacy policy

Catchwind is run by Strategised Pty Ltd ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, and what you can do about it.

What Catchwind does

Catchwind sends professional advisers (accountants, bookkeepers, brokers, planners and lawyers) a regular email about events at the businesses they act for, drawn from public registers such as ABN Lookup and ASIC. We match businesses by their ABN or ACN. We report what the public record shows, with its source and date. We don't score or rate anyone.

What we collect

If you're a customer

  • Your name, firm, role, email and phone, and the details you give us when you sign up.
  • Your client list: the names and ABNs or ACNs of the businesses you want covered. Some of these may be sole traders, whose name and ABN are personal information. We treat them that way.
  • Billing records. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your card details.
  • Your emails and messages to us, and your replies to what we send.

If you contact us or use a form on this site

  • What you enter (for example your name, email, firm and message).

If we contact you first

  • Business contact details that advisers publish for their role, for example on a firm's website or in a professional directory. We record where we found each address. We don't buy contact lists.

From public registers

  • Information about businesses on public registers. Some entries name individuals (for example a company officeholder, or a sole trader). We use them only to identify the business and report the event to the adviser who acts for it. We don't build profiles of individuals.

We don't collect sensitive information, and we don't use advertising trackers on this site.

Why we use it

  • To provide Catchwind to you: matching your client list against public registers and sending your digest and alerts.
  • To set up, bill and support your account.
  • To reply to you.
  • To contact advisers who may find Catchwind useful, always with an easy way to say no.
  • To keep records we must keep, such as evidence of consent, opt-outs and billing.

Your client list is used only to produce your digest and alerts. We never contact your clients, never use your list to market to anyone, and never share it with other customers.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Email and opting out

Marketing email from us always gives you a way to opt out. Reply and tell us to stop, and we stop within five business days (usually the same day). Your digest and account emails continue while you're a customer; cancelling stops them.

Who handles it for us

We use a small number of service providers to store and process information for us. We give each only what its task needs.

Keeping it secure, and how long

Access is limited to what each part of the service needs, credentials are never stored with the data, and our automated email handling keeps a log of what it did.

  • Client lists are deleted within 90 days of your subscription ending, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Account and billing records are kept for as long as the law requires (tax records are generally five years).
  • Enquiries and outreach contacts are deleted within 24 months of our last contact unless you become a customer.
  • Opt-out records are kept indefinitely, so we never contact you again by mistake.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

Email hello@catchwind.com.au to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We'll respond within 30 days, usually much sooner. If you're a sole trader on an adviser's client list, you can ask us to remove you, and we'll tell the adviser we've done so.

Complaints

Email hello@catchwind.com.au with "Privacy" in the subject. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and tell current customers by email about any significant change.
